Board Election Results

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce and welcome the new members of the Board. The following people will serve a three year term on the Board of Directors.

Picture of Elizabeth FarringtonElizabeth Farrington, PharmD, BCPS

Elizabeth Farrington is a Clinical Specialist - Pediatrics at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Hospitals and a Clinical Assistant Professor at UNC School of Pharmacy. Dr. Farrington earned her B.S. in Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina (1983) and her PharmD from the University of Kentucky (1985). Dr. Farrington completed a two-year (1 year in pediatrics) Clinical Pharmacy Residency at the University of Kentucky (88) and a Pediatric Research Fellowship at the University of Iowa (89). Dr. Farrington directs a Pediatric Pharmacotherapy Residency and has trained nine residents. Her practice area is pediatric critical care.

Since joining PPAG in 1988, Dr. Farrington has participated as a speaker at several national meetings and served on the advocacy and education committees.

"PPAG is the leading pharmacy organization addressing the Pharmacotherapy needs of children," Dr. Farrington states, "I am excited about the opportunity to serve as a member of the PPAG Board."

 

Picture of Carlton LeeCarlton Lee, PharmD, MPH, FASHP

Carlton Lee is a Clinical Specialist, Pediatrics, Department of Pharmacy, The Johns Hopkins Hospital, a Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, and an Assistant Professor, Pediatrics, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Lee earned his PharmD from the University of the Pacific, Stockton, California in 1985. He also holds a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. Dr Lee completed an ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1986 and a pharmacokinetic/ pharmacodynamic fellowship at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins in 2003.

Dr. Lee joined PPAG in 1998. From 1999-2000, Dr. Lee served on the Editorial Review Board the Journal of Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics. Since 2001, he has served on the Journal Advisory Board. He co-authored the PPAG Guidelines for Preventing Medication Errors in Pediatric Patients. He served on the 2006 NICU/PICU Planning Committee. He has also been a presenter at various Annual Meetings.

Dr. Carlton comments, "This is the true Pharmacy organization for our specialty practice that addresses our dynamic professional needs. I will serve as your voice in representing your needs for providing optimal patient care, receiving quality continuing education instruction, and addressing key practice and research issues."

Picture of Jeff LowJeffrey Low, PharmD, BCPS

Jeff Low is Clinical Pharmacist Specialist-Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth and Director of the Pharmacy Practice Residency Program at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. Dr. Low received his PharmD from the University of Kentucky in 1996. He completed an ASHP Accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Jeff has been an active member of PPAG for 9 years, and he has participated on the research & member services committees. Since 2003, Jeff has served as the Vice-President for Member Services, where he has worked on projects such as the PPAG website upgrades, membership survey, PPAG newsletter, and launching online CE. He has attended 8 annual meetings and 2 specialty conferences, where his activities have ranged from presenting posters, moderator, and research award judge, to running to Kinko’s for extra handouts and Radio Shack for AV equipment.

"I wish to be able to continue the fiscally responsible growth of PPAG with offering more services to members. I also want to broaden our membership involvement on committees. PPAG offers the most high quality opportunities for pediatric pharmacy CE. We need to extend the reach of our offerings beyond practitioners in pediatric hospitals, and develop a reputation for offering pediatric competency assessment and on-line pediatric education for all pharmacists, " comments Dr. Low.
