About the Journal

General
The Journal of Pediatric Pharmacology and TherapeuticsÔ is the official journal of the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group.  JPPT is a peer-reviewed multi-disciplinary journal that is devoted to promoting the safe and effective use of medications in infants and children. To this end, the journal publishes practical information for all practitioners who provide care to pediatric patients. Each issue includes review articles, original clinical investigations, case reports, editorials, and other information relevant to pediatric medication therapy.

Frequency of Publication
Quarterly. First issue was mailed July, 1996.

Distribution
The Journal of Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics is the official Journal of the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group. Distribution is to active subscribers and members of the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group. Total non-complimentary and membership distribution as of January 2007 is 1,000. Approximately 120 complimentary copies are provided to the Editorial Board, other organizations (AAP, ASHP, etc.) and selected practitioners. Within the United States, subscription rates are $150.00 for individuals, and $175.00 for institutions. International subscription rates are $175.00 (USD) for individuals, and $200.00 (USD) for institutions. In summary, distribution is to a very targeted and focused audience

Editorial Content
The Journal will focus all work on issues related to the practice of pediatric pharmacology and therapeutics. The scope of content will include pharmacotherapy, extemporaneous compounding, dosing, methods of medication administration, medication error prevention, and legislative issues.

The Journal will contain original research, review articles, short subjects, case reports, clinical investigations, editorials, and news from such organizations as the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group, the FDA, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Pediatric Pharmacology Research Units, etc.
